LOUISVILLE, KY — This morning in Division Four of Jefferson Circuit Court Jacquan Crowley (dob 11/10/1993) entered a plea to Criminal Attempt Murder, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon and Fleeing and Evading Police in the First Degree. The charges arose out of an incident occurring on June 11, 2016 wherein Louisville Metro Police Officer Kyle Carroll was shot by Crowley while attempting to arrest him on outstanding arrest warrants. The trial of the case had been scheduled to begin today. Crowley agreed to a total sentence of eighteen (18) years on the charges and, having waived separate sentencing, will immediately begin serving his prison sentence.
Assistant Commonwealth Attorneys Justin Janes and Andrew Dailey, were the prosecutors on the case.
This case was investigated by LMPD Sgt. Arnold Rivera.
