With the increased number of expungements (1,500+ so far this year), the position of Expungement Coordinator was established for the Office of Commonwealth’s Attorney.

This new position will work under the supervision of Jason Moore in our Appellate Division.

Cidnei previously worked in  the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office where she worked as a Victim Advocate and Legal Assistant.  Prior to her time at the County Attorney’s Office, Cidnei worked as a Clerk in the Jefferson County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office.  Cidnei has a BA in Criminal Justice/Theology from Bellarmine University and a certificate in Paralegal Studies from Boston University.

Wednesday morning, the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office went to the dogs!

K-9 Officer Hondo and his handler, Officer Nimmo, were presented a bone shaped check for $3,179.86. 

Money raised by Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office and two boys, 11-year-old Finnegan Hamlet and 8-year-old Jack Shaw will purchase a special gift for the good dog.

“I would say, ‘We’re raising money for an LMPD K-9 named Hondo to get him a bullet proof vest,’” Jack said on their approach of asking people to donate at the lemonade stand.

Dorislee Gilbert was one of two assistant Commonwealth’s Attorneys across the state recognized for her outstanding service to the Commonwealth and the Jefferson County Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney. The award was presented at yesterday’s luncheon during the winter meeting of the Kentucky Prosecutors Conference. Dorislee was hired for our office in 2004 and began prosecuting child abuse cases with DVU. In 2010 she lateraled over to the appellate division where she continues to serve today as the Division Chief. Dorislee has been the portal for many law students who served as clerks and later Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorneys. She still prosecutes cases to keep her trial skills sharp. She has a keen eye for talent, a strong sense of justice, and great trial intuition. She is a great appellate attorney because she has walked the talk! Her “did you know” series and her in house trainings match any courses offered by the National District Attorneys Association and the Kentucky Prosecutors annual conferences. She is a true asset to all Kentucky prosecutors and is our treasure.
