The Special Victims Unit prosecutes crimes involving relationship violence and child (physical and sexual) abuse. This unit espouses both the sensitive support of victims and education to break the “cycle of violence” which perpetuates in such situations. Note: the Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Unit was renamed to the Special Victims Unit in 2018.
