The Welfare Fraud Liaison maintains regular communication and works closely with the County Attorney’s Office and the Office of the Inspector General on cases involving welfare fraud. Specifically, the liaison makes case by case decisions about which cases meet certain thresholds and have unique characteristics which may warrant consideration for direct indictment. The role of the Welfare Fraud Liaison is to ensure that cases move through the judicial process efficiently and expeditiously.
